Professor Ruth Endacott is NIHR Director of Nursing and Midwifery. She is the first person to hold this role.
Prior to her appointment in May 2021, Ruth was Professor of Clinical Nursing at the University of Plymouth and Monash University, Melbourne and Deputy Chair of the NIHR Clinical Doctorate Research Fellowship panel. She has held leadership positions as Head of School, Head of Department and Associate Dean (Research) in the UK and Australia.
Ruth is Emeritus Professor at Monash University and Trustee/Director at the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC).
