Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone is Programme Director and Chair of the Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme.
Jo is Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medicine at Lancaster University. She is also Chair of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Implementation Strategy Group and an emeritus Senior Research Leader for Health and Care Research Wales.
Jo trained as a nurse and later studied psychology as an undergraduate and post-graduate. She has established an international reputation for mixed methods applied health research, particularly in improving the organisation and delivery of services. The funding for her research has come from a variety of competitive sources including NIHR, the EU’s FP7 Programme, Economic & Social Research Council, Medical Research Council and Canadian Institutes for Health Research. She was named by Thomson Reuters as a highly cited global researcher.
Jo is a sub-panel member for REF2021 unit of assessment 3 – allied health professions, dentistry, nursing and pharmacy.
